Luna Polimer Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. was established on the 19th of October 2020 in the aftermath of Covid as a Polymers trading company, although we are a newly established company our roots go way back to the 1960’s.
The family group of companies based in Turkey reached respectable export volumes in products such as plastic sacks, wool fabric, confection, and the raw materials trade. With our success we received awards for our achievements in export from the government institutions and the commerce chambers. In the 2000’s our group of companies owned three production plants in two cities in Turkey. In addition to this we also used contract manufacturing plants to supply the additional demand which exceeded our production capacity. In 2014 we added a production plant in Russia to our group of companies with the aim of reaching the international levels of production. Due to a change of strategy, increasing costs and the tightening of regulations the company disposed of their production facilities between 2016 and 2019.
Today, through our Luna Polimer company we have gained a share in the plastic raw materials import market in Turkey. By directly importing products from countries such as UAE, Korea, China, and Saudi Arabia, through our long-established relationships, we are able to leverage the price advantage compared to some of the other players in Turkey.
Luna Polimer is aiming to reach a 2% market share of the 6.5 – 7 million m/tons of yearly consumption in Turkey within the next 5 years. Luna is not only looking at the import side but through our recently established UK entity Luna Polimer UK Limited we are also seeking export opportunities across Europe and Africa. To support us with this we can access funds through our trading finance partners in the UAE which provides us commercial convenience.
Through our warehouses in the Netherlands and Nigeria and our logistics solution partners in Mersin, in İskenderun and Ambarli (İstanbul) we are able to cater to the needs of our customers both in transportation and storage.
